**Role Summary:**

As part of the Enterprise Risk DT team you will be responsible GE Capital & Treasury risk management processes. You will collaborate across GEC organization to understand risk processes and streamline applications using java technologies. You will work in an agile team and will pair with Data and Architecture teams for total solution design. Responsible for designing and programming a small module or a large component and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area.


**Essential Responsibilities:**

In this role, you will:

o Be responsible for providing technical leadership and defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure

o Provide technical leadership to an agile team of 5-7

o Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision

o Translate requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards

o Work with product line leaders and architects to develop multi generation software technology plans

o Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse

o Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities

o Coach, mentor and lead the team

o Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverables

o Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products

o Communicate effectively both within immediate team and also across SSG leadership team and with PLLs

o Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy and results

o Engage subject matter experts in successful transfer of complex domain knowledge

o Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques

o Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project

o Understand performance parameters and assess application performance

o Work on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology chosen

o Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness


**Qualifications/Requirements:**

o Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

o A minimum of 8 years of professional experience with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java and PL/SQL Development OR Master's degree with 3 years of experience Java and PL/SQL Development.


**Desired Characteristics:**

Technical Expertise:

o Experience with Windows and Unix / Linux based programming

o Experience working on software projects in Financial domain

o 5+ years for software development experience

o Deep technical depth and software development experience using JEE technologies and framework including Spring, myBATIS/Hibernate/JPA, SOAP/REST

o Experience developing on UI framework like AngularJS

o Strong SQL development and analysis skills, preferably Oracle

o Familiarity and experience with service oriented design, REST/SOAP/JMS

o Familiarity and experience with with Predix

o Experience working in DEVOPS structure including continuous delivery and SCM tools like Jenkins and GitHub

o Familiarity with modelling and forecasting tools like Python/R/MatLab

o Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
