**Role Summary:**

Skillfully and safely machine replacement parts for industrial equipment, complete shop and field repairs on equipment such as pumps and gear-boxes; complete welding repairs and fabrication; use problem solving skills to quickly address and resolve mechanical operating issues.


**Essential Responsibilities:**


The Machinist must be able to do the following:


+ a. Reproduce parts from measurements taken and from used parts

+ b. Read machine shop and fabrication drawings and machine and fabricate parts from drawings

+ c. Perform basic shop welding and fabrication

+ d. Have industrial experience in operating manual lathes, drill presses, grinders and milling equipment

+ e. Bend and sheer sheet metal

+ f. Rebuild industrial pumps and gear boxes

+ g. Basic pipe fitting

+ h. Repairing mechanical equipment on production floor and using problem solving skills to solve root causes

+ i. Performing precision measurements

+ j. Lift up to 50 pounds

+ k. Climb stairs and work in elevated heights

+ l. Work in confined spaces

+ m. Walk and stand for extended periods of time

+ n. Work reasonable amounts of overtime including weekends

+ o. Work on any of 3 shifts

+ p. Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment

+ q. Work independently and complete projects and assignments on timely basis

+ r. Be self-motivated

+ s. Possess and use good communications skills while also being an effective team player

+ t. Work safely and ensure co-worker safety

+ u. Successfully complete written and hands on assessment


**Qualifications/Requirements:**


+ High School Diploma / GED or equivalent

+ Minimum of 3 years experience in machining repair parts, field machining/ millwright experience (as well as welding experience in a manufacturing setting) **ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :**

+ Ability to Lift up to 50 pounds

+ Ability to Climb stairs and work in elevated heights

+ Ability to Work in confined spaces

+ Ability to Walk and stand for extended periods of time

+ Ability and willingness to Work reasonable amounts of overtime including weekends

+ Ability and willingness to Work on any of 3 shifts

+ Ability to Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment **Desired Characteristics:**

+ 5 years experience machining repair parts, field machining / millwright experience (as well as welding experience in an industrial setting)

+ Graduate of an accredited college, community college, technical school with a 2 year degree in machining(OR, Successfully completed a certified apprentice program in machining)

+ Strong oral and written communication skills
