**Role Summary:**

Current is now hiring an intermediate to senior level technical support engineer. You will learn everything about the Control Scope Manager (CSM) system, and you will apply your new skills to managing our technical infrastructure and helping end users resolve their configuration and usage issues. This is an unscripted position where you will be expected to adapt on-the-fly to troubleshoot and resolve problems.


**Essential Responsibilities:**


In addition you will :


+ Provide Level 2 technical support via remote phone / email to Current's partners and end customers on technical issues related to the installation, commissioning and ongoing operation of ControlScope

+ Become an expert with ControlScope, Current's wireless building control solution and other Current devices

+ Assist with management of Current server and modem fleet, including implementing and upgrading remote servers and IoT devices

+ Initiate, document, track, manage and resolve support cases in a timely and efficient manner

+ Contribute to knowledge base

+ Provide occasional on-site assistance with the installation and commissioning or troubleshooting of ControlScope

+ Role may involve minimal travel within the United States


+ Assist Current's Solution Engineers with implementation of innovative building control demonstration projects

+ Work with Engineering, Commissioning Team and Management to identify opportunities to enhance ControlScope to make it easier and simpler to install and commission

+ Dependable and capable of working predetermined support shift weekdays and possibly work on-call during the weekends on a rotating schedule

+ Perform any other duties necessary within the support team role

+ Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (STEM) from an accredited university or college (Or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a technical field)

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical field {including experience with the setup and configuration of a remote monitoring solution (nagios,zabbix,etc.); AWS management experience; and/ or Experience with elastic search and central log server management} **ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :**

+ Familiarity with ISO Networking Layers, modems, switches, routers and firewalls

+ Familiarity with lighting, HVAC and building control systems is a plus

+ General troubleshooting skills in Linux at the command line, networking, software applications

+ Understanding and experience with SSH, SFTP, SCP, Remote Desktop applications, Sales Force and JIRA

+ Experience upgrading and troubleshooting linux systems from the cli.

+ Experience with a central management server (SaltStack preferred)

+ Send mail experience - configuring and trouble-shooting email issues

+ DNS / bind - Ability to configure and maintain a master / slave dns server

+ Ability to work and figure out technical issues on your own with minimal supervision

+ Basic networking understanding and how to determine and troubleshoot networking issues

+ Professional demeanor with effective written and verbal communication skills in a clear and articulate manner while providing support via the customer support hotline and email

+ A strong work ethic, and an earnest willingness to learn
